๐ New Developments: Optimizations โ๏ธ
โฐ This is how long it took to write: 6 hours 17 minutes
I don't know if I'm the only one meeting this many people...
Who want to show me how to earn 10 million HUF a month, or maybe you do too! ๐คจ
When I started my business, people like you were my salvation, or rather I thought they were... ๐ฎ
But I was very disappointed with their courses and they took a lot of my time... ๐
I will explain this in more detail, but first let's see...
If you're interested in what we work so hard on and how it can accelerate your progress, check out this link:

๐ How's the challenge going?
๐ Today we literally worked in a lake
We're in Hallstatt right now on the 1st leg of our Roadtrip. (If you haven't heard of it, be sure to look it up) ๐
There's a lake right next to it, which is stunningly beautiful and crystal-clear water by the way. We didn't need any more, we tried it out with the guys. It was at least this ๐ค๐ผ cold at first. But we quickly got used to it.
In the end we used the bridge as a Standing Desk and I read on it + Edu was coding next to me. This place is a miracle! ๐
โ๏ธ Moving forward with the Optimization List
We're at 37% and only 7 days to go. So not bad! ๐

๐ค Startup competition went well - I met Jared
The whole event was very high quality! There were amazing ideas: from agricultural robots to packaging made from mushrooms. ๐
I especially liked that there were entries from several countries and it was all in English.
Thanks to my friend Joci, I met Jared (Jared Schrieber), who has already built and exited a Unicorn company ($1 billion company value). ๐
He was insanely nice and recommended a few books to keep me going! ๐ง
Thanks again Joci for the opportunity to go with the boys!
๐ก Side note: Before we get into it, I must point out for the sake of new readers that the aim of this article is prevention, not encouragement. Lest someone end up wanting to become a Fake Mentor.
Let's start a little further back... ๐ญ
๐ญ Why are there so many fake mentors?
Unfortunately, or not unfortunately, Homo Sapiens is a smart creature. ๐ต
(Although there are many who refute this)
Because of this, it uses its resources to be as efficient as possible. ๐ฐ
So, he wants to make money by investing as little work as possible. ๐
Some people succeed and some don't. โ
You - just like me, back in the day - want to get ahead in life. ๐
You've realized that it's "not a disadvantage" to have someone to show you the way. And you'd be especially happy if success came in a short time and you didn't have to work so hard for it.
How do I know so much?!
No kidding, I went through the same thing! ๐
I tell you how the plot usually goes on. ๐ฃ
You realize that the person who can show you the way is a Mentor! You can find a few on the internet - Kiyosaki, Grant Cardone, Tai Lopez, etc. - but you soon realize that this is a category you can't afford (to be mentored 1:1). ๐ช
๐ Book recommendations: Our book My First Mentor is a good place to start. Or, if you definitely want to read from an American author, Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.
Then you're browsing Instagram and suddenly an ad comes up with a cheeky young guy (a bit older than you, but not by much), showing off cars and going to all the right places! ๐ฒ
You think, what a great life he must have and wish you could try it out. ๐ค
Then you go to his profile, where you're even more shocked...
Bundles of cash, exotic places, sports cars, everything a young person like you could dream of. ๐ค
You'll also see in his bio that His "goal" is to teach others. ๐คค You see that he has helped hundreds of people achieve the same.
You're a bit doubtful, but there are the results and the reviews in the Highlights.
Then you click on the link and go to his site...๐ฅ (Which of course is perfectly set up, psychologically)
You check out how much his course costs, where he "tells you all about how he did it". You'll have a mini heart attack when you see the price, but he keeps telling you it's just a "small" investment to commit to your new future. ๐ฅ
You can't resist, you pull out your long-saved money, and then... ๐ค
Thoughts run through your head: hours worked, Christmases, birthdays. ๐ญ
But you spend that money because your new future is waiting for you and it's the only way to get there... ๐ธ
Then you excitedly dive into learning, only to wake up 1 month later to find you're actually in the same place in life, only X thousand forints down. ๐
Well, that was my story and I think a lot of other young people like me.
The problem was that you met a "Fake Mentor". ๐ฅธ
๐ก Side note: The term "Fake Mentor" comes from someone pretending how much knowledge they have to swindle people out of money and then, when the promised results don't come, they just spread their arms and say "You didn't give it your all..."
The worst part is that these people take advantage of young people, because young people will listen to you if you have a lot of money, and they will make you think you have a lot of money and get attention... ๐ค
And why are there so many Fake Mentors?
Because it's proven to be a good business model... ๐คฏ
The Model is simple X amount of money is invested in building their image and because of that they sell courses, from which they get the real revenue and build an even better image for themselves.
It's really all about building an ego brand. ๐
But...
๐ง How do they do all this?
There are many factors in the equation, but I'll try to cover all the parts!
They always ride a trend: drop shipping, forex, ai, crypto. ๐
Whatever is going and there is a lot of hype around it, they ride it. Even if you haven't seen any content from them on that topic before. Suddenly he's into it and offers a "huge opportunity". ๐ซด๐ผ
The math itself is simple, I'll put it together for you in a minute:
๐ a Ferrari, 260.000 HUF / day
๐ก a good Airbnb, 100.000 HUF / day
๐คต๐ฝโโ๏ธ a cool suit, 30.000 HUF / day (this is just extra)
๐ restaurants, 20.000 HUF (because you only want 1-2 good meals)
๐ฅ videographer 80.000 HUF
and you're done.
There you have it, for 460.000 HUF ย you have your Instagram image ready. Because you can stack these pictures and videos for months. Nobody will know that they were made in 1 day. ๐
But what about the results?
That will be harder... (you think) ๐ค
But they are also very easy to manipulate. A html code rewrite, or a photoshop and you're done. I've also seen a message on the iWatch that so and so has been bought and in the meantime the friend has made a purchase from the background, so he has moved it from one pocket to another. ๐ณ
Sad but true! ๐
That alone is not enough, you need Psychology. ๐ง
More specifically, manipulation...๐
The dream is sold to you. Most of these mentors are better at manipulation than the business they are supposed to teach. ๐คก
Which they use:
๐ฃ FOMO, - Fear of missing out...
๐ฑ Scarcity, - There is little room and you might get left behind if you think too long
๐ฅธ (Fake) Social Proof, - 100 other people have achieved the same thing
๐ (Fake) Authority, - Cars, Money, Restaurants
๐ Exclusivity, - This is "The Course" where it tells you everything
๐ง Us vs. Them - Those who join are Men, those who drop out are the "inferiors"
And it all leads to some people trying to build Cults out of it. But I have already talked about this in another post.
Basic book for them is:
๐ Influence - Robert Cialdini
๐ Get anyone to do anything - David J Liberman
๐ Mind reader - David J Liberman
๐ Book recommendations: You can find all 3 of these in BookBase. The Impact - Impact is listed, but don't be fooled. Also, I'd like to highlight "Evolutionary Psychology", it's a masterpiece to get the basics. ๐ง
And what money comes in is "reinvested" back into their lifestyle, thus attracting more people. More specifically, they use it to finance the life they dream of. ๐ธ
And I believe it is more motivating for young people to see this than our humble story. There is nothing wrong with that, but please at least don't spend money on these courses, because 99% of them are completely unnecessary. ๐๐ผ
๐ก Side note: After OM started, I too once wondered if it would be worth it to build the Brand this way, I just didn't have the stomach for it. I realized it wasn't me. And I couldn't look my grandpa in the eye if I did!
Let's see what you have to look out for... ๐
โ Introducing Checklist
[ ] Holidaying in Dubai (It's easy to show off your luxury here, even if it's not your own)
[ ] Rented sports car (I have a picture of one of these on Instagram, it's just important to have the framing to make someone believe it's theirs. And I'll disprove it in the first sentence!)
[ ] Bunch of cash (This is an immediate disqualification!)
[ ] Surreal results (This is also something to pay close attention to. There is a good saying: "What is too good to be true usually is")
[ ] Fake reviews (Tips, when you ask your buddies to write something)
[ ] Just him and his "money" on his profile
What mentor to look for:
โ
Mentor Checklist
[ ] Pictures with family and friends
[ ] Validated by several people you know
[ ] He talks about his mentors and you can check out their successes
[ ] He gives examples from his own business that he can back up
[ ] He speaks honestly and you can see it in his body language
[ ] Usually doesn't have tens of thousands of followers
[ ] You can see what he has achieved with concrete numbers (company info, etc. NOT screenshots)
I hope this has helped you! ๐๐ป
Back in the day, if someone would have shown me this, I would have a few thousand more dollars now. But that's ok, I paid for this lesson so that you would NOT have to. โ
The purpose of this blog is to highlight the difference between a Mentor and a Fake Mentor.
Because Mentors are useful and can speed up your progress a lot! โ
You just have to pick the right one... ๐ฃ
๐ฅ Challenge
It's a big Challenge for me now that I've been looking for a Mentor for the second year now, but I never found one for the long term. The problem is, I have pretty specific needs now. ๐
It's not about having knowledge; it's about having knowledge in exactly what I need right now. It would be best if he had already built an App on such a topic. ๐
Mentors can also be categorized:
He knows how to achieve something, but he hasn't achieved it yet.
He has already achieved what you want to achieve.
He has already achieved and can deliver
He has already achieved and got others there
He has already reached and gotten someone like you there
Now for me, level 2 and up would be great! ๐
If you know someone whose knowledge you think would be useful to me, please DON'T hold back, write to me here or on Instagram and I promise I'll thank you if I manage to find a mentor! ๐๐ป
๐ What have I just read?
I'm reading "Traction" by Gabriel Weinberg. It's going to be incredibly useful for us, I just find it hard to bring myself to try what I'm reading, besides traveling. ๐งฒ
I also brought along the book "Measure what matters" by John Doerr. It will help us with our business objectives. It is a thick book, but it has been recommended by many. โฑ
And finally, a very authoritative person recommended me a book "Disciplined Entrepreneurship" by Bill Aulet. I don't know exactly what it's about yet, but I've already put it on my Kindle. Just in case! ๐
These are not up on BookBase yet, but what goes around comes around! ๐
๐ง What have I listened to now?
We mostly listened to my Spotify album "Mood" on and off on the trip. I think the guys know the songs by heart. But then, I collected them just for this. It totally has a Roadtrip - Mountains - Summer feel to it! ๐
