📝 New Developments: 7/14 Challenge 🏆
⏰ This is how long it took to write: 7 hours 11 minutes
I promise you, if you read this article carefully and understand it, it can save you several years! 🙏🏻
Why is it, the further down the road you go, the more everyone tries to bring you down. 🤔
They keep offering better options.
More and more serious people seek you out.
Easier and easier ways to make money.
The question is, why is this happening? 🧐
And how do you protect against it? 🛡
But before we get started, let's see...
🚀 How's the challenge?
🌍 The guys go to WeAreDevelopers - World Congress
We got the tickets this week! Kokesz and Edu will be travelling together to Berlin at the end of July to learn from some of the greatest minds in the business. 🛩
If you are a developer, this event is like the World Cup or the Super Bowl for you. All the "big dogs" can be found here. GitHub's founder, Stripe's top management and not to mention Award-winning Designers, just to give Kokesz a treat. 🗣
I'm hoping that in addition to being a great experience for them, they'll also learn a lot of new, innovative things that we can use as we expand the App. 🧠
If anyone is still thinking about it, I'll put a link here!
🏆 7/14 Challenge is ready
If all is true, it's all set to go live next week! After all, the goal of the Challenge is to read 7 book summaries together in 14 days - which isn't too bad. 🔥
I'll show you which books will be included:
♻️Atomic Habits
🤝 How to make friends
❓ Find your why
🎯 The one thing
💸 The psychology of money
💪🏼 The way of the superior man
❤️🔥 The art of seduction
🚀 A new upturn in the number of users
You may have noticed that the number of users has started to go up again in the last few weeks! Thank goodness! All the hard work is finally paying off! 🙏🏻
Here you can see how the number of active Trials has soared in the last 14 days! We're still trying to figure out why, but it's great to see that people are starting to get interested in BookBase at this level.
🐐 GOAT last day
The GOAT formula is our only video course on starting a business. We usually launch once a year, which this year was this week. 📆
What the course includes:
🎥 50 video lessons
📒 60-page workbook
👨🏽🏫 Mini-courses: increasing effectiveness, Facebook Ads, Website creation⚠️ IMPORTANT: The GOAT formula will NOT teach you how to make 100 million, but it will explain perfectly how to get started step-by-step. And it will get you to your first paying customer! 👣
If you're interested, you can find it here: onlinemarketinges.com/goat
Okay, now we can get started! 🏁
💭 Why does this phenomenon happen?
The answer is very simple, as your knowledge grows and you become more experienced, you attract the attention of more and more people who want to do business with you. 🤵🏽♂️
And they do everything they can to attract you. To get a little piece of your knowledge. 🧲
This will be a really big test for you!
It's where you decide who's in it for the money and who's put their life on what they do. 🙏🏻
There is an English name for this phenomenon:
"Shiny Object Syndrome"
Also known as SOS, it means that the person is not persistent enough because they see better and better opportunities and they start doing them. 🤯
Unfortunately...
He just doesn't do it long enough to make it work! 🥵
Here is a graph that illustrates this perfectly:
But don't worry, it happens to everyone, it happened to me! 😒
Although with me quite young, when OM, it was just starting to take off. 🚀
More and more serious people wanted to collaborate, do joint business, run joint projects etc. 🤝
And...
The problem was that in most cases I went along with it. Trusting in the delusion of how easy it would be to make a lot of money. 🤑
I wasted years chasing these " Shining Opportunities" which of course never came to anything. 😳
It was huge "learning money" for me and maybe that's when I really understood:
"What is too good to be true, usually is."
And reading this, you probably are too:
👦🏼: "Okay, thanks Kristóf, you've reassured me that I'm going to fall for it too. Much better now..."
But relax! There's no need to panic, because in the next part we'll talk about HOW to avoid it! So, here we go... 😉
🧐 How to...
There are more questions here, which is why I didn't finish the title. ❓
1. How can you recognize this
It's easiest if I write around these " Shining Possibilities" so you can recognize them more easily.
😌 They almost always come easily and are not that hard to get started
😏 Usually, another person seeks you out or shows you
🤩 You'll see success stories about how X person made Y Ft in a short time
🤯 You're right, if even half of that is true it's still grossly worth it
🤑 Math’s always comes out as a way to make a hell of a lot of money
😎 And not in a very long time
🤥 And of course, you don't have to work too hard for it...
Well, my friend, if these are typical for you, you are probably facing such an opportunity, and maybe you are almost there. But relax, I'll show you how to avoid it...
2. How you can avoid it
Step 1.- Recognize that you are facing one and remember this Blog article that I - Kristóf - wrote for you. 📝
Step 2. - Ask yourself the question, why did I even think about this possibility? What do I not like about my current "opportunity"? 🤔
Step 3 - You let yourself know that to be successful, you need to work long and hard, it may be difficult to take your original idea forward now, but it will pay off in the long run! (99.9% of the time) 💪🏼
📕 Book recommendations: The Obstacle is the Way - Ryan Holiday's brilliant book is about just that. One of my favorite books, it has a huge connection to me as I read it when I was on my own in Italy! It helped me through a lot of difficulties and I feel I wouldn't be the same person today without it. Of course, it is on BookBase and you can listen to it! 🎧
Step 4 - You thank the person for the opportunity and wish them good luck! 👋🏼
Voila, you're done! 🪄
I know-I know, it's easier to write it down than to do it in real life. Because there's always that little devil sitting on your shoulder saying.
😈: "But what if you could do it? Just give it 1 chance. Your success will depend on it, etc. etc."
I have to stress in advance that this is all perfectly normal and all perfectly bullshit... 😄
The easiest way to demonstrate this to you is through my own example!
When I was chasing all these cool opportunities that make easy-quick-money - or would have - my income was 1 unit, let's say 1 apple. 🤡
I took 3 projects at the same time, plus the BookBase and it gave out 1 in total. 🍎
0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 1 🍎
Then, after I got fed up and realized that it doesn't work that way, I started to focus 110% on BookBase and OM, which in this case are now one and the same.
My income jumped 4 in 1.5 years. 🍎
So, to deduce: 0̶.̶2̶5̶ + 0̶.̶2̶5̶+ 0̶.̶2̶5̶ + 4 = 4 🍎
How? 🧐
Simple! (I mean very serious and persistent work, but explained, infinitely simple)
I focused on one thing and was able to put significantly more work into it, and it improved significantly faster because of it. Whereas before, I was juggling 4 projects but couldn't focus on any of them with any penetrating force. So, I got nowhere. 🤹🏼♂️
📕 Book recommendation: Gary Keller's masterpiece "The One Thing" is about exactly this and explains why it's better to focus on just 1 thing. And why entrepreneurs who succeed in only 1 business do better. There's Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, all focused on 1 thing when they became successful! Of course, since then, their companies have been involved in more than one thing, but their success is due to the fact that they didn't jump around. You can also listen to this in the App!
💡 Side note: It's absolutely true what they say about having more than one leg to stand on, but it's worth developing this when you've already made one of those "legs" a success. After that, it's worth "diversifying" - a fancy word for spreading your money into different investments. The most successful people I know have all done it by becoming successful in one segment and investing their earned money in different places: stocks, crypto, real estate, etc. And they did NOT get multiple legs by starting 5 different businesses at once!
Let's see then...
✅ What exactly do you do?
[ ] First, find one thing you can do with all your heart! (Usually how you know you'd do it even if you weren't getting paid) 🧡
[ ] Step two, focus on it 110% and make it your goal to make it a success, no matter what! Make yourself aware in advance that it will not be easy and there will be lows (Try to act like a horse with blinders on and only see ahead because of it) 🐴
[ ] Step three, if you ever come across such a "Shiny Opportunity" just remember this article and even read it again. Remember the devil is always on your shoulder! 😈
[ ] Fourth step, DO NOT try to have more than one leg to stand on by having several businesses at the same time, but by making 1 business a success and spreading the money you make from it into different investments. 🎯
📕 Book Recommendation: The Unshakable - by Tony Robbins. This book gives you practical advice and strategies to help you build your financial future and shows you how you can become financially independent. It's also on the App!
[ ] Step five, drop me a line if this has helped you build your life and I'll buy you a coffee to congratulate you! 😉
I've been thinking a lot about whether I've managed to present this topic well enough. Because believe me, it's more important than you think. 🧐
I honestly believe that this is the one thing that separates successful and ultra-successful people.
And I hope that if we continue this way with the team, we can show you a good example of it! 🙏🏻
🔥 Challenge
This week has been quite calm - thankfully -. The only major obstacle was that we moved the courses to a new site and there were some minor bugs about what-where and what is missing. 🪲
It was such a final hurdle before the launch of the GOAT formula. Because I didn't want these users to be still on the old system. 🐐
I feel like now everyone knows what they have to do and everyone is pushing hard to get it done as soon as possible and start the new Sprint. ♻️
I may have mentioned it before, but from mid-June until mid-July we will be together with the guys and Kinga doing a huge Road trip in the Alps (Austria - Lichtenstein - Switzerland - Italy - Austria - Hungary). This is the schedule! 🚗
💡 Side notes 2: Switzerland has been a bucket list item for me so far and it feels super to explore it in such company. You should see my Insta Feed, it's about all Swiss Reel videos! 🥾
We'll be spending a whole month together, in more and more beautiful landscapes, so there will be no shortage of improvements I guarantee! 🚀
📖 What have I read now?
I've just started reading Ryan Holiday's latest book "Call of Courage", the first book in a new book series that will cover the 4 main Sotian virtues. 💪🏼
It's not hard to guess that it's about Courage, the book itself hasn't said much new so far, but Ryan Holiday's style always sucks me in. He has so many good stories to tell and explain through examples that there is simply no way out once you start. 💭
I'm also secretly hoping that his writing style will stick with me while reading. Although here I should probably ask my friend Pityu, as he would explain to ME in a second why Ryan Holiday's style is so brilliant.
📮 You can find Pityu's newsletter here:
And, it will be shocking, but I have read a lot of comments and messages this week. 💬
We got a massive amount after the Matrix video! You just loved it and highlighted it many times as the best video ever. Which is mainly thanks to Geri! But we listened and listened, and now we'll try to make the next videos in the same style! 🔥
💡 Side notes 3: Even a finance teacher at one of the schools filmed it, she liked it so much and agreed with it, now that's what's really honorable! We still have hope in teachers like this to help open the eyes of young people! Thank you from here too!
🎧 What have I just listened to?
I was in a Philosophy class this week, right next door. It was brilliant again this time, the only class so far that I look forward to week after week because it makes me think. 🤔
This time we learned about the Indian philosophers and tried to understand Indian philosophy. 🇮🇳
You know I've been up to my neck in Stoicism, but this class is helping me a lot to understand other philosophical movements and to frame the whole philosophy! 🖼
This picture brought me a bit back to my senses and helped me a lot, I printed it out! One frame, one week of your life, so it makes it easier to perceive the impermanence.
I go to this philosophical "school", there are such schools in several cities, I'll link you: ujakropolis.hu (HUN)
This is NOT an advertisement; I just think it might help some people. ❌
And finally IMPORTANT to note that this is NOT a religion, NOT a cult, NOT anything like that, it's just a philosophical school where you can learn about different trends. ❌
